When considering Community Safety and Well-Being, the conversation seems to be quite fractured. Too often, communities and neighbourhoods rely entirely on the perspectives of their elected officials and police when seeking solutions.
Citizens are longing to be heard, and more voices can create new alternatives.
Let’s look upstream, working towards less dependence on reactionary, incident-driven responses and re-focusing our efforts and investments towards the long-term benefits of prevention, social development and improving our quality of life.
Communities throughout our province continue to struggle and are in chaos. Various issues such as crime, mental health, addictions and homelessness have all converged.
I have been facilitating Sharing Circles for over a decade and have remained committed to helping create safe and healthy communities throughout my life.
Sharing our stories is nothing new; humans have been doing it throughout the ages. Let’s co-create a new story – together.

Listening is not simply hearing the words that are spoken.
Listening is understanding why the words were spoken.
